Welcome to the Five Cities Fire Authority (FCFA) website.  It is my hope you and your family will find this site helpful to better understand the services and capabilities offered by the FCFA to the communities we serve.

The FCFA provides fire prevention,  emergency medical,  fire suppression,  rescue,  community outreach/education and emergency preparedness to over 37,000 residents across a 10 square mile coverage area.  We also respond to a number of special calls for service to meet the needs of our communities as well as responding into neighboring jurisdictions through automatic and mutual aid agreements.  The Authority operates 3 fire stations and responds to over 4000 incidents annually.

As a major tourist destination,  the FCFA is active serving our residents,  business community and over a million visitors who come to enjoy our mild year round climate,  beach and sand dune activities as well as the many festivals held throughout the year.

The Five Cities area is susceptible to both natural and human made disasters.  I encourage the residents within the FCFA area to be proactive in their own preparedness and protection.  This includes maintaining working smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors in your home and conducting planned exit drills to escape from a fire or other disaster.  There is a considerable amount of urban/wildland interface throughout the Authority area.  Residents should maintain a defensible space around their homes and manage vegetation/fuel on their property to comply with the Fire Prevention Code.  Finally,  I encourage you to plan for the large disasters such as earthquake or large evacuations due to hazardous materials release or flooding.  Pay close attention and follow directions from officials,  account for your family members,  be prepared to be self-sufficient for 72 hours,  help your neighbors, and register your cell phone information with the local reverse 9-1-1 directory.

The staff of the FCFA exhibits a singular purpose in the protection of lives and property of our residents.  Thanks again for visiting and feel free to communicate to me how we are doing and how we can better serve you and the community.
